Modeling intraspecific diversity

Empirical studies find that intraspecific diversity has important effects on communities, but theoretical models do not often incorporate it. I am currently developing two models to incorporate intraspecific diversity into our theoretical understanding of food web and community stability. I build on random food web models and simple species interaction models to see how incorporating intraspecific variation might affect stability of these systems and how and if the effect of species diversity differs from the diversity within species.
